This policy explains how Menaris Network uses cookies and similar technologies on menaris.net and inside our game launcher, what your choices are, and how we record them.
Who operates this website
Menaris Network
menaris.net
Menaris Network is run by a company registered in Greece. For anything about this document, about your account, or about the business behind the service, contact menaris@fijisolutions.net. When you pay, the checkout page of the payment provider shows the registered company details in full.
What cookies and similar technologies are
A cookie is a small file that a website asks your browser to store. When you come back, your browser sends it again, so the site can tell it is still you. "Similar technologies" means anything that does the same job another way: data kept in your browser's storage, or a small script or invisible image loaded to count a visit. This policy uses the word "cookies" for all of them.
The four categories
We use exactly four categories. There are no others.
| Category | What it is for | Can you refuse it |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Keeping you logged in, taking a payment, blocking bots, remembering your cookie choices | No |
| Analytics | Counting how pages are used, so we can improve the site | Yes |
| Third-party beacons | Measurement code placed by another company on our pages | Yes |
| Game interest | Remembering that you want news about games that are announced but not yet open | Yes |
Strictly necessary. These keep your signed-in session alive as you move from page to page, carry a payment through to the end at Stripe or PayPal, let Cloudflare Turnstile tell a person from a bot, and hold your answers to this policy so we do not have to ask you twice.
Analytics. These let us count how the site is used, in aggregate: which pages are opened, how often, and how visitors arrive at them. We use this to see which pages matter and where to improve the site. We use one analytics tool, Vercel Web Analytics, run by Vercel, which also delivers the website. It sets no cookie and stores nothing in your browser. It tells visits apart by a hash made from the request, which Vercel discards within 24 hours, and it records which page was viewed, the page you came from, and the country, browser and type of device.
Third-party beacons. These are small pieces of measurement code served by another company when a page loads, which tell that company that a visit happened. We use none today. If we ever add one, we will name it here in a new version of this policy, and ask you before it loads.
Game interest. This is a marketing consent, not a cookie. Games that are not yet open are announced on the site before they open. If you leave your address on such a game's page, this records that you agreed to hear about that game.
The cookies we set
Every cookie we set is strictly necessary. None of them is used for advertising, and none is shared with anyone.
| Cookie | What it does | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|
__Secure-portal.session_token | Keeps you signed in after you log in | 7 days |
__Host-portal.device | Recognises a browser you have signed in from before, so we can warn you of a new one | 400 days |
__Host-portal.consent | Holds a random identifier for the answers you gave in this browser | 180 days |
On the sign-in, registration and password pages, Cloudflare Turnstile runs in a small frame served by Cloudflare to tell a person from a bot.
When you open the form to create a game account or to reset a game account's password, your browser keeps one more strictly necessary item, in its own page storage (IndexedDB) rather than in a cookie: a single-use key that lets this browser, and nobody else, open the new game password we show you once. It is deleted as soon as it has been used; a key left unused is removed the next time this browser opens one of those forms, once it is more than 48 hours old.
Inside the launcher
Our game launcher does not show our pages itself: its links open them in your own browser, the default browser on your PC, so this policy applies there exactly as it does on the website, with the same cookies, the same page storage and the same question about analytics. The launcher keeps no browser cookies or page storage of its own. Earlier versions of the launcher showed our Lineage 2 page in a browser built into the launcher and kept that browser's cookies and page storage in a folder of their own inside the launcher's folder on your PC (in your Windows user folder, under Menaris); the launcher deletes that folder at its next start, and if it cannot, tries again at the start after.
Strictly necessary cannot be refused
Logging in and paying do not work without the strictly necessary category. There is no version of the site where you are signed in but we are not allowed to remember it. So this category is always on, with no option to turn it off. It is used only to run the site, never for advertising.
Nothing else loads until you say yes
Analytics, third-party beacons and game interest are off until you grant that exact category.
The check happens on our server, before the page is sent to you. If you have not consented, the tags and scripts for that category are never put into the page at all. Nothing fires and is cleaned up afterwards, because nothing was there in the first place.
What we ask you
The first time you open the page of a game that is already open, we ask about analytics. The question reads, word for word:
"Can we count your visit? Menaris Network would like to count page views with Vercel Web Analytics, which sets no cookie and does not follow you to other sites. Saying no changes nothing on the site, and you can change your answer at any time from Cookie settings at the bottom of every page."
The two answers, "Allow" and "Don't allow", sit side by side and look the same.
Refusing costs you nothing
If you refuse a category, nothing about your experience changes. No feature is locked, no page is degraded and no price is different.
You are also not nagged. A refusal is recorded like any other answer, and the next page does not ask you again.
Changing your mind
There is a Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. It opens a page that shows what you have answered for analytics in this browser, with the same two answers, "Allow" and "Don't allow". One click changes your answer, exactly as one click gave it. It takes effect from that moment: anything already collected stays collected, but nothing further in that category is loaded.
Game interest is different, because you give it on a game's page and no cookie holds it. The Cookie settings page cannot show or change it. To withdraw it, write to menaris@fijisolutions.net or open a support ticket, and we will delete your address from every list it is on.
The record we keep of your consent
When you answer, we store a record of that answer. It holds the category, whether you granted or refused it, the date and time, the version of the consent text you were shown, the language it was shown in, the country worked out from your IP address, the page you answered on, and the random identifier held in the consent cookie. Once the record is linked to your account, it also holds your account.
We keep this because we have to be able to show that consent was actually given, and what you were shown when you gave it. If your account is erased, the record is kept as that proof, with the country removed.
The record is first-party: we store it on our own systems, not with a consent-banner or cookie-management company. No outside service is asked to hold your choices for us.
Where your choices are kept
Your choices are remembered per browser, by the strictly necessary consent cookie above, and you can set them without an account.
When you register or log in from that browser, the record of the choices made in it is linked to your account, so it is part of the personal data you can ask us for. Your choices still apply only in that browser. Another browser or device is asked separately, and changing your answer in one browser does not change it in another.
This does not apply to game interest, which is not tied to a browser and is not linked to an account.
New wording means we ask again
If we change the consent wording in a way that changes what you are agreeing to, that creates a new version. Consent you gave to the old version does not count for the new one. We will ask you again, and until you answer, the categories affected are treated as not granted. A change never applies backwards.
Your browser can block cookies too
Independently of this site, your browser has its own controls. You can usually block all cookies, block only third-party cookies, delete cookies already stored, or clear them when you close the browser. Look in your browser's settings under privacy or site data.
Two things to know. First, if you block strictly necessary cookies, you will not be able to log in or pay, because the site cannot keep track of your session. Second, deleting cookies deletes this browser's copy of your choices, whether or not you are logged in, so you will be asked again. The record of your earlier answers is kept, and is linked to your account if you were logged in, but it is not used to answer for a new browser.
Questions and complaints
Write to menaris@fijisolutions.net, or open a support ticket from your account. Support tickets are the only two-way channel we run.
Our Privacy Policy explains your rights over the personal data behind these choices: access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection. You may also complain to a supervisory authority. In Greece that is the Hellenic Data Protection Authority, www.dpa.gr.
